GridMe is an Adobe Illustrator plugin that helps logo designers generate foundation grids, construction breakdowns, clearspace guides, and presentation boards in seconds instead of hours.

The Process

GridMe started from a workflow problem I noticed while working at Dzinr, a branding agency. While the logo design itself was often completed efficiently, the presentation phase still consumed hours of manual work. Designers had to create construction grids, clearspace guides, color boards, size guidelines, and other brand presentation assets manually inside Adobe Illustrator, repeating the same process for nearly every project.

That repetitive workflow raised a simple question: why should presentation work take almost as much effort as designing the logo itself? This led to the core idea behind GridMe, a tool that automates the entire post-design presentation workflow directly inside Illustrator. After validating the concept through an early prototype, I focused on designing a system that matched how branding designers actually work in real production environments.

The product was structured around four core stages: Base, Construct, Clearspace, and Present. Base helps generate structural grids such as square, modular, radial, and golden ratio systems. Construct analyzes logo geometry to generate anchor points, bezier handles, alignment lines, and circle fits for professional construction sheets. Clearspace automates exclusion-zone documentation, while Present generates client-ready assets like color palettes, logo variations, and size guides.

The biggest challenge was making GridMe feel native to Illustrator while handling complex geometric calculations, path analysis, and real-time rendering. After extensive testing across macOS and Windows, GridMe evolved into a production-ready tool with licensing, subscriptions, and a scalable foundation for future products. Today, GridMe is live at gridme.in and represents the first step toward a larger ecosystem focused on eliminating repetitive design work for creatives.
